Proton Lancer (Waja Replacement) a rebadge of Mitsubishi Lancer

According to the business weekly paper, the Edge (week of 23rd Feb 2009), Proton will be releasing the new Proton Waja 1.8l, which is a rebadged version of the Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0l in 2010.
Further refinement is currently underway. The looks will be different from the Lancer and spot its own characteristics. But one things for sure, the mechanical aspect and design is all Mitsubishi. Let’s hope the assembly is of quality.
This also means that Proton is now effectively in the business as a car assembler rather than car manufacturer. There is effectively minimum difference between Perodua (backed by Toyota/Daihatsu) and Proton (Mitsubishi).
Did i say they will also price the 2010 Proton Waja (aka Mitsubishi Lancer) at 80k? Honda City & Toyota Vios will have much tougher alternative from Proton Lancer this time.

saya amat setuju dengan proton akan mengeluarkan model spt ni..cuma saya minta kualitinya perlu di jaga..
how about the quality? is it same like lancer?

Lampu dpn die cam cacat sket kat tepi tuw..
- body cam lancer 2.0.
- lampu belakang pun cam lancer 2.0 tapi nampak lebih ‘mewah’ dan bergaya berbanding lampu belakang honda city baru & toyota vios baru.
- lampu depan cam waja tapi ada tambah bentuk ‘hujung pedang’ tapi lagi cun dari lampu waja yg kelakar tu.
- bumper depan cam BLM, memang mewarisi model proton walaupun ia model mitsubishi.
- keseluruhan? boleh la bersaing dengan honda city baru dari segi rupabentuk.
kalau boleh wahai pihak proton..
tolong la jaga nama baik syarikat anda kerana kualiti setiap keluaran anda baik di luar mahupn dalam negara harus la sama..
jangan pikir kami rakyat malaysia yg tidak berduit..
jangan la buat kereta macam tin besi kosong lagi..
biar pelanggan selamat dan berbaloi..

to me waja is great car rather than other proton model..
they better focus on waja development n improvement..
dah bosan facelift mcm ni…sama mcm waja jgk…
im scared if proton upgrade their product quality, not many malaysian can afford to buy the proton car..
if im not mistaken, the export models are in good quality care than non export models.
